Solar Car Test Run (Hama Technical Academy [Fukushima Prefecture])

Six teachers and students from Fukushima Prefectural Hama Technical Academy visited RTF.

They used RTF’s Minamisoma Runway to conduct a test run of their solar car entered in the WGC Solar Car Rally & Green Fleet Rally held in Akita from August 7.

The body of the solar car was built by Hama Technical Academy. Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute, AIST (FREA), in Koriyama, produced the solar panel module for this solar car and surfboard maker MSP (Odaka-ku, Minamisoma) built the roof on which the module was mounted using FRP, the same material used for surfboards.
