On Wednesday afternoon, 28 April, 2021, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako inspected the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum online.
First, Their Majesties saw the video of the museum.
In response to questions from the Emperor, Executive Director Ito of the Fukushima Innovation Coast Promotion Organization explained that the museum was opened in September last year, and the number of visitors has reached slightly under 50,000 thus far, of which about 40% came from outside the prefecture.
Their Majesties continued to ask questions while making notes. At the end of the inspection, Empress Masako said to us, “It is good that this significant facility was established.”
