On Monday, 11 October, 2021, the First Decommissioning of Nuclear Reactor related industry networking event in FY2021 was held at an educational facility in Tomioka Town with the goal of creating a network among prefectural companies that aim to participate in the decommissioning work, main contractors and Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. (TEPCO).
On the day, following the orientation introducing TEPCO’s initiatives for community coexistence, the main contractors and the prefectural companies exchanged business cards and shared information on the content and technology of the decommissioning work.

Seven main contractors (ATOX CO., LTD., KAJIMA CORPORATION, TAISEI CORPORATION, TOKYO ENERGY & SYSTEMS INC., Tokyo Power Technology Ltd., Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation, and Hitachi-GE Nuclear Energy, Ltd.) and 40 companies from the prefecture exchanged business cards and had a networking session.
Some main contractors that participated in the event made comments such as, “It was a very good opportunity for us to find out about information on prefectural companies that we hadn’t known,” and “We strongly felt that the prefectural companies want to contribute to the region through decommissioning work.” Some prefectural companies made comments such as, “Since there are few chances to make direct connections with the main contractors, this event provided us with a good opportunity,” and “Taking advantage of this opportunity, we hope to receive orders.”
